Louisiana Tech University's
Hall of Distinguished Alumni

Tower MedallionThe Hall of Distinguished Alumni was established in 1977.

Since that time, outstanding alumni of the university have been honored by being named to the Hall as recipients of the Tower Medallion.

The honor is conferred each spring at the May Commencement

Statement of Ideals

The Tower Medallion honors Louisiana Tech alumni who have distinguished themselves by exceptional achievement, community service and humanitarian activities. The purpose of the award is to recognize those exceptional individuals who have brought honor not only to themselves but to the University as well, and to provide permanent recognition in the Louisiana Tech University Hall of Distinguished Alumni.

Louisiana Tech University has always recognized that the true measure of its greatness is the performance of its alumni. Previous activities have recognized achievements in various colleges within the University, and the Alumnus of the Year award has been based on service and loyalty to the University through the alumni organizations.

While these recognitions are deserving traditions which will continue, the Tower Medallion and the Hall of Distinguished Alumni serves a broader purpose and will offer a deserved permanent recognition through various elements.

The Tower Medallion and the Hall of Distinguished Alumni is a Tech tradition that will bring credit and honor both to the recipients and to the University
