I am excited to share what is being referred to as both exhilarating and inspirational; Dying On My Feet My Journey Times Two, Highlights living.



On November 20, 1990, I was given less than a 5% chance of surviving; Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. Through God's Grace, I remain alive and well. Blessings, Melvin "Chief" Lars.



A proud bull dog alumnus, member of the 1973 NCAA National Championship Team and the 19-74-75, Powerlifting team. Most importantly a 1975 graduate from the school of Education; Health & P.E. and English (minor).

Melvin Lars (1975) graduate and former member of the 1973 1AA NCAA National Football Championship team.

Melvin has recently completed two (2) new publications; 1. "Dying On My Feet My Journey Times Two" chronicles his journey as a 25 year Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia survivor, he was given less than a 5% chance of survival. One reader's quote, "I loved it, some parts were difficult to read because of the mental and physical anguish and pain that's so eloquently described. Thanks for sharing this remarkable story!!!
2. "Mind Muscle", contains 100 poetical expressions that are extremely pensive. One readers states, "It is like looking through the windows of your soul!"
OMAHA, NE (05/24/2013)-- Timothy Cotita of Monroe was awarded a Master of Science in Health Care Ethics degree during Creighton University's commencement ceremony on May 18, 2013, at the CenturyLink Center Omaha. University President Timothy R. Lannon, S.J., presided. Lannon, a 1973 graduate of the University, is the first alum to serve as president of Creighton. About 1,600 degrees were conferred during Creighton University's spring commencement.
Kevin has been notified of his successful completion of the requirements for a Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Strategy from Oxford University, Saïd School of Business, Oxford, England. Graduation ceremonies are scheduled for June 22nd, 2013.
Completed my PhD in Statistics from Baylor University in May 2011.
Recently completed a PhD in political science at UCLA. Dissertation title: "Designated Drivers: State Capitalism in China's Auto Industry". Owner of Pacific Rim Advisors, a consultancy specializing in political risk analysis and business strategy.
Justin Atchison graduated from Cornell University in August 2010 with a PhD in Aerospace Engineering.
Christi Conti-Holloway earned her Education Specialist Degree with a concentration in Leadership and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University (Harrogate, TN) in December 2009.
Louis C. Glover just completed his doctorate in Supervision, Curriculum, and Instruction - Higher Education at Texas A&M University-Commerce, December 2009.
